Deaver Operating Scissors — Sharp/Blunt Serrated Curved · SKU SC 02-33-01. A curved working tip lets the surgeon work behind tissue planes and around vascular structures without obstructing the view. Cross-serrated jaws hold tissue securely under tension without sliding, the standard grip surface for general-purpose work.
The cutting edge on a surgical scissors is engineered geometry: a primary bevel ground to a shallow angle for tissue penetration, a secondary edge polished to near-mirror finish for low-friction transit, and a hardness profile that keeps the edge sharp through hundreds of autoclave cycles. AISI 420 stainless tempered to 52-55 HRC covers the general-surgery range; tungsten-carbide tip inserts extend service life roughly ten-fold on high-volume patterns and resist the edge-rolling that ends standard stainless scissors after a few hundred uses. Pattern selection — Mayo for heavy fascia, Metzenbaum for delicate dissection, Iris for micro-work — turns on the tissue type the surgeon encounters. Fizza manufactures the complete scissors catalogue under ISO 13485:2016 with TC and plain-stainless variants on every premium pattern.
