Graves Speculum — Large 105 × 33 mm
The 105 × 33 mm Graves is the size the surgeon picks for vaginal-hysterectomy retraction, posterior colpotomy access in laparoscopic-assisted procedures, and large-cone-biopsy or LEEP exposure where the lesion sits high in the endocervical canal. Length 105 mm reaches the high posterior fornix in the patient with a retroverted uterus and adequate parity, while 33 mm distal width threads the more demanding aperture without committing to the 115 × 35 mm of the larger variant.
The colpotomy and the hysterectomy fit
Vaginal-hysterectomy circumferential incision requires the speculum to lift the bladder anteriorly while the surgeon palpates the vesico-cervical fold; the 105 mm length crosses that fold cleanly, and the slightly narrower 33 mm distal blade (versus 35) allows the surgeon to angle the speculum without pinning the cervix against a tense lateral wall. For LEEP of an endocervical lesion the longer blade keeps the loop clear of the speculum body.
Side-screw fixation
For procedures lasting 20–30 minutes the locked aperture matters more than the size — the lateral screw holds against the natural counter-pressure of pelvic-floor tone for the duration of the operation.
