The Backhaus towel forceps (towel clip) is an essential operating room instrument used to secure sterile surgical drapes to the patient and to each other, maintaining the sterile field throughout the procedure. Its sharp, penetrating points pierce through multiple layers of draping material and superficial skin when required, while the self-locking ratchet mechanism holds them securely without assistance.
