Dandy Dura — Johns-Hopkins Neurosurgery
Walter E. Dandy (1886-1946), the Johns-Hopkins neurosurgeon who pioneered ventriculography and modern intracranial-aneurysm surgery, gave his name to the dura scissor that bears the depth-control needed for ventricular-system access. Reference Dandy handles ventricular-catheter placement dural cut, third-ventricle endoscopic-approach trans-cortical dural opening, and aneurysm-clipping initial sub-frontal dural reflection. Hopkins-tradition.
