Farabeuf Double-Ended — Paris Surgical-Anatomy Tradition
Louis-Hubert Farabeuf (1841–1910) Paris anatomist authored the landmark “Précis-de-Manuel-Opératoire” surgical-anatomy textbook and designed the double-ended retractor with paired-blades of different-sizes for versatility. The Farabeuf double-ended handles general-surgery skin-and-superficial-fascia routine work — orthopaedic-trauma open-reduction-internal-fixation ORIF skin-edge retraction during humeral-shaft fracture-plating with anterolateral approach in young-adult MVA, dermatologic-Mohs facial-flap reconstruction wound-edge retraction during stage-closure with adjacent-tissue-transfer ATT for cheek-defect, and minor-general-surgery wound-edge retraction during outpatient excision of subcutaneous-lipoma > 5 cm requiring deeper-dissection. Farabeuf Paris-anat.
