Graefe Tenotomy — Berlin Ophthalmology Reference
Albrecht von Graefe (1828-1870), the Berlin ophthalmologist who founded the Archiv für Ophthalmologie and modern strabismus surgery, gave his name to the reference tenotomy scissor still on every strabismus-tray. Reference Graefe handles classical-strabismus rectus-tenotomy through trans-conjunctival approach, oblique-muscle-weakening Tenon-window creation, and superior-rectus traction-suture cut at the limbus. Berlin-tradition reference.
