The HIBBS osteotome is named after Russell Hibbs (1869–1932). Its design is used for spinal fusion and large joint work; the wider blades in the Hibbs family are used for laminectomy decortication and hip arthroplasty. Blade 6 mm, overall length 240 mm.
Our version is forged from AISI 420 German-grade stainless, hardened to 52–54 HRC and passivated to ASTM A967. heavy-duty bevelled edge, octagonal handle, made to take repeated mallet strikes without walking. Packed individually, laser-marked with our SKU BS 14-261-01 and ready for steam sterilisation at 134 °C / 18 min.
