Micro Adson 150mm — Penile Implant Microsurgery
The 150mm Micro Adson is widely deployed in penile-prosthesis implantation surgery — both inflatable and malleable variants — where the surgeon works through a penoscrotal or infrapubic incision into the corpora cavernosa at depths the shorter 120mm cannot reach. The micro-scale tip handles the corporotomy edge during reservoir-placement and the urethra-protecting dissection that prevents iatrogenic urethral injury during dilator passage.
The corporotomy-and-dilation step
Penile-prosthesis insertion begins with a corporotomy incision into each corpus cavernosum, followed by progressive dilation with Brooks dilators from 8mm to 14mm to create the implant tunnel. The 150mm Micro Adson protects the urethra against dilator deflection — held against the urethral position during each dilator pass, the forceps signals to the surgeon if the dilator strays toward the urethra. Iatrogenic urethral injury during prosthesis insertion is the most-feared complication and the Micro Adson’s protective role helps prevent it.
Erectile dysfunction surgical caseload
Inflatable penile prosthesis is the standard surgical treatment for medically-refractory erectile dysfunction, with approximately 25,000 implantations annually in the United States. Patient satisfaction at 5 years exceeds 90% in experienced surgeons’ hands; precise corporotomy dissection contributes to that outcome.
