Gluck Rib Shears 19 cm — Berlin Orthopaedic Tradition
Themistokles Gluck (1853-1942), the Berlin-trained orthopaedic surgeon who pioneered ivory joint-prostheses in the 1890s and contributed to early cardio-thoracic instrument design, lent his name to the 19 cm rib shears for short-thoracotomy work. Use cases: VATS-converted-to-open lobectomy mini-thoracotomy rib-spreader-companion, paediatric-cardiac sub-axillary mini-thoracotomy approach, and rib-resection in chronic-empyema decortication when limited-rib-removal suffices. Short Berlin-pattern.
