Catalogue reference SC 02-512-01 — Vannas Micro Scissors — 16 cm Blade (16.0 cm), supplied to hospitals, distributors, and OEM partners.
Vannas scissors are the standard fine micro-scissors of ophthalmic surgery — used for capsulotomy, iridotomy, conjunctival dissection, and any delicate intraocular cutting under microscope. The pattern is distinguished by very short (5–8 mm) sharp blades on a spring-action handle, total length 8–9 cm. Curved and straight blade variants cover most ophthalmic procedures. Manufacturing demands tight tolerance: the blade edges must close uniformly along their full length under spring tension or they tear rather than cut. Modern Vannas are typically AISI 420 or 17-4 PH stainless; titanium variants are favoured by some microsurgeons for lighter weight during prolonged procedures.
