Veterinary instruments share the metallurgy and manufacturing standards of human-medical instruments but with patterns developed for specific veterinary applications: castration tools (Burdizzo, Henderson, Sand), dehorners (Barnes, Keystone), ear-tag applicators, hoof care tools, embryotomy instruments, and general surgical sets sized for bovine, equine, ovine, porcine, and small-animal practice. Material grade matters: instruments used in agricultural settings need higher corrosion resistance and impact tolerance than equivalent human-medical patterns. Castration and dehorning tools in particular require AISI 440 stainless or harder for the mechanical advantage their jaws apply. Veterinary instruments fall outside human-medical CE/FDA pathways but are still manufactured under Fizza’s ISO 13485:2016 quality management system.

Sialkot has been the world’s primary cluster for surgical-instrument and precision-metalwork manufacturing since the late nineteenth century, when local steel workshops began supplying instruments to British military and civilian hospitals. Fizza Surgical’s facility continues that tradition, combining workshop craftsmanship with the metallurgy and quality systems modern procurement requires.
