Westcott Micro — American Strabismus Pattern

George E. Westcott (1869-1944), American ophthalmologist, gave his name to the spring-handle micro that became the strabismus surgeon’s primary muscle-and-Tenon dissection tool. The Westcott pattern serves rectus-muscle-recession scleral-attachment release, oblique-muscle weakening procedures, and conjunctival-flap creation in trabeculectomy — distinguished from Noyes by its blunt-tipped, highly-curved blade designed to slide along sclera without abrasion.

Strabismus and conjunctival use

  • Rectus recession
  • Oblique-muscle weakening
  • Trabeculectomy conjunctival flap

Westcott spring-handle micro, AISI 420 stainless. Forged in Sialkot.
