Castroviejo 9 cm — Anterior-Segment Default
Ramón Castroviejo (1904-1987), the Madrid-and-NYC corneal-transplant pioneer who designed the eponym’s spring-handle micro, made the 9 cm version the anterior-segment default. Use cases: penetrating-keratoplasty donor-button preparation at the bench, ICL implantable-collamer-lens haptic-edge clean-up, and Descemet-membrane-endothelial-keratoplasty (DMEK) trephination edge trim. Spring-handle returns instantly between cuts.
