The Chevalier-Jackson broncho-oesophagoscopy forceps, designed by the father of endoscopy Chevalier Jackson, is the classic instrument for foreign body extraction from the airway and oesophagus. Its jaw configuration allows secure grasping of a wide variety of foreign objects — coins, pins, bones, and other aspirated/swallowed items.
