Gradlea Cilia Forceps — Curved-Tip Eyelash Variant

The Gradlea cilia forceps has a curved distal tip that engages eyelashes at the lid-margin curve — particularly useful for the lateral and medial aspects of the eyelid where the lash line curves to follow the canthal anatomy. Straight-tip cilia forceps require the patient or operator to angle the lid for lash access at these positions; the Gradlea’s curved tip accommodates the natural canthal curvature.

The canthal-trichiasis indication

Lateral canthal trichiasis (lashes at the outer corner of the eyelid abrading the temporal cornea) and medial canthal trichiasis (at the inner corner abrading the nasal cornea and producing watering) both require precise epilation at the canthal angles. The Gradlea forceps’s curve facilitates this work without operator wrist contortion or patient eyelid repositioning.

The post-blepharoplasty trichiasis

Trichiasis can develop after blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery) when scarring rotates lashes inward; the canthal regions are particularly susceptible. The Gradlea forceps serves the management of this post-cosmetic-surgery complication.
