The Mayo-Hegar needle holder is the most widely used general-purpose needle driver in surgical practice. Featuring a robust box-lock joint mechanism with cross-serrated tungsten carbide or standard jaws, this instrument provides secure needle grip for suturing in general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, and wound closure.
Design & Construction
Manufactured from premium AISI 420 German stainless steel with precision-ground jaw serrations for optimal needle control. The ratcheted locking mechanism allows single-handed operation with consistent clamping pressure. Available with standard cross-hatched jaws or tungsten carbide inserts (gold handle variant) for extended edge life.
